Research profile

My principal research interests lie in the interdisciplinary and cross-linguistic approach to the relation between language and cognition. I am particularly interested in comparing language acquisition across languages, including first and second language acquisition, bilingualism, as well as typical and atypical learning situations. My doctoral dissertation examined typological constraints in the development of spatial language (motion events) in German and French adults and children (ages three to ten years). I have received training in linguistics, psycholinguistics, and developmental psychology. During this training, I have acquired much experience in the study of child and adult language, particularly in designing experimental methodologies to elicit and analyze language productions (including the construction of coding systems for the analysis of corpora using CLAN in CHILDES).
